A large Flooring Store in the DC metro area needed to find a way to increase productivity with their employees, answer technical support calls as they came up and implement a proper growth strategy for future needs.
The Client
As the leading Washington flooring retailer, this flooring store delivers great savings, selection and service on all your flooring needs. Unlike standard flooring stores, their three locations display huge show rooms and have been doing so for over 30 years.
The Challenge
The Flooring Store approached OptfinITy in 2003 because they were having problems keeping their computers up to date and efficient. Additionally, they had three locations but the Line Of Business application they used was located in one location with very limited access for the other two locations.
After evaluating the situation, OptfinITy’s solution involved the following suggestions and implementations:
- The Implementation of a Wide Area Network, initially tying the three locations together over a frame relay which has since adapted into a VPN based network.
- The implementation of a terminal server system using Windows Server to allow the remote locations to access the data quickly and efficiently.
- An overall plan to help refresh equipment gradually rather than all at once, saving the client capital costs while also providing them with new machines to become more efficient.
- Access to the OptfinITy 24 X 7 helpdesk where each employee can receive assistance at anytime, day or night.
